Social Projects

Recently, the main focus of the Foundation has been on its social projects. The Foundation provides direct financial support to concrete individuals and groups or organizations.

Own projects

MiNiGRANTs Veolia

MiNiGRANTS VEOLIA is a key project of Veolia Foundation that at the same time give Veolia Voda Group´s employees an opportunity to be actively involved. All employees may recommend publically beneficial projects for financial support of the Foundation, in which they participate, usually as volunteers.

Pétanque Playing Courts (not only) for the Elderly

The goal of the pétanque courts is the support of active living for seniors and at the same time the strengthening of intergenerational cohabitation between the retirement homes´ citizens and people living in their surrounding. This project was established in 2006 and by the end of 2010 as many as 32 pétanque courts had been built in the Czech Republic. Other courts are being built with the support of the Foundation – by the end of 2011 already 40 of them should have been finished.

Setting Out

This project is aimed at young people from children´s homes, whose entry into the life is complicated by circumstances that they can not influence alone. It was launched in 2005. Its goal is to assist young people in integration into society and in overcoming the difficult period after leaving children´s home. 

During its existence, 79 individuals and 6 children´s homes have been supported (not only financially and some of them repeatedly i.e. during several years).

The aid of the Foundation is based on strengthening of the independence and self-confidence of these young people, on support of their education at the high school or university, of gaining/financing their first own living, and starting a new job and on sharing and transferring life or work experience.

Support of other organizations and their projects

Besides its own projects, the Foundation supports equally projects of other organizations that make their requests to the Foundation. The support of specific projects is determined by the Board of Trustees. The projects are assessed in terms of their quality, compatibility with the goals of the Foundation and extent of the financial requests.

The Veolia Foundation supports some organizations and their projects by providing them with financial or material donations. All such supported projects must be in accordance with the status of the Foundation, i.e. they must be based on or directed into social, environmental or educational areas.

Jointly, in cooperation with our partners we can expand the scope of our Foundation also in places and localities that cannot be reached with our own projects. In some cases, we provide them with long-term support.
